Sweethaven are undertaking the 3 Peaks Challenge in aid of ‘I Choose Freedom’

At Sweethaven, our charity work is very important; we’ve held charity gaming events, entered mud runs, fun runs and much more over the last 40+ years. The next challenge, chosen by our team, is to tackle the 3 Peaks Challenge for an important local charity, and we’ve set a target to raise £2,000!

According to Wikipedia, the National Three Peaks Challenge is an event that was first recorded in 1887, where it took J. R. Wynne-Edwards and D.R. Smith 10 hours to complete! Depending on the route we take, it covers 23.3 to 26.1 miles! This demanding, 20 mile undertaking - climbing the highest mountains of England, Scotland, and Wales within 24 hours - can’t be taken lightly so, our teams are already in training to complete the challenge in 2023.

We’re walking on behalf of: I Choose Freedom - a small, independent local domestic abuse refuge charity, comprising of 3 refuges, based across Surrey offering accommodation and extensive support.  They can cater for up to 30 survivors and their children who are fleeing severe domestic abuse.

Would you like to join us? We’d love for our clients, partners, and any local business to take part with us – the more the merrier!  Do get in touch at commercial@sweethaven.co.uk  if you’d like to participate as an individual or, with your team.

We’ll bring you more updates, team profiles, and general news about the group taking part and will be sharing information from I Choose Freedom in the run-up to the event.

We’d really appreciate any support/donation you or your business could make.

Here’s what our CEO Melissa Rambridge has to say about the charity and our event:

“The Sweethaven team are really excited to be taking on this challenge and are getting those training walks planned in now! We have worked with I Choose Freedom for a long time; it is such a worthwhile cause, and I am continually amazed at the dedication of the whole team there to protect and save lives”.

Edward Henty Commercial Manager is participating in the hike and hoping to raise £500:

“3 peaks is an incredibly inspiring challenge and one that provides the ability to raise money for a fantastic cause.”

George Betts, Junior Account Manager, is hoping to beat Ed’s target of £500 and has set his sights on £200 per peak!

“I’m really excited – and very happy to take part in a team event for such a good cause... I’m also looking forward to smashing my fundraising target!”

All donations are welcomed.
